It is not surprising when you ask people how their life is and they would say, “It’s quite difficult, actually, but we have to keep going.” There is sometimes the “air of surrender” in that response. There is also the “voice of courage” in there for a lot of people.
Courage
Courage is defined as “mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty” (Merriam-Webster). Life can throw the weirdest curveball that could sweep you off your feet—and not in the most positive ways. Sometimes, the effects brought about by that curveball can be so traumatizing that it could feel that standing back up seems impossible. But with the proper mindset and enough confidence—plus a huge dose of hope—can pull you out from the rock bottom you see yourself in.
Perseverance
Perseverance is defined as “continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition” (Merriam-Webster). People who do not let obstacles stop them from going after what they want eventually get their reward, even though sometimes, they are met with even more challenges before they are able to achieve their goals. But because they push through despite the challenges, they are not stuck in the “rock bottom.”
Hope
Hope plays a huge role in keeping the courage in one person alive. The hope that there will be better days and that the seemingly bad days will end. Where there is hope, there is the desire to live your life for the better, creating more goals to achieve.
Life can take you by surprise—at any time. Courage, perseverance, and hope are just some of what you need to make it in life. There are others equally necessary. You will learn that your courage will intensify your desire to go after bigger adventures in life. And if you’re up to the challenge, your sense of achievement when you persevere to reach your goals will be unparalleled. And your burning hope will spurn you to go after more dreams.
